COMING IN JUNE 2012 - SCAM CITY (Travel+Escape Canada and National Geographic Channel worldwide)

Scam City crosses the globe visiting ten of the world’s most popular cities. A travel show with a twist we expose the darker side of tourism: the scammers and con men circling like sharks on the fringes of the tourist trade. Presenter Conor Woodman will meet with them, going undercover and into their lives to discover how scammers profit from hard-earned travel money. He will discover the local specialties of crime against travellers – every bit as distinct as the local foods and dialects.

AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 TRADES (CHANNEL 4 2009) WATCH THE TV SERIES HERE…

With £25,000 in his pocket from the sale of his flat, Conor Woodman travels across four continents, trading in all kinds of products with the aim of doubling his money

Conor starts the first leg of his journey in Sudan where he hopes to buy camels and take them up one of the world’s oldest trade routes along the Nile to Egypt.

Despite his City knowledge, he soon discovers that international trade is a lot harder on the ground - as he’s given a hostile reception by the camel traders.

Thinking perhaps it’s time he invested in a more familiar commodity, Conor purchases two tonnes of Zambian coffee. It’s a far cry from the coffee shops of the Square Mile, but Conor’s sure he can make a decent profit on the South African market.

REVIEWS FOR 80 TRADES…

‘You can’t help but admire the sheer chutzpah of the man.” The Times

“Conor Woodman may be that rare thing – a likable city boy. A former market analyst, Woodman wants to see if he can make his dosh by doing business the old way: face to face, haggling, buying and selling. With 25 grand of his own money from the sale of his flat, he sets off for Africa with no small aim in mind: to buy camels in Sudan, and double his money selling in Egypt. Enjoyable stuff, in amazing locations.’ The Guardian
